Dabigatran etexilate, which is found in Afogatran 75mg Capsules, is a member of the class of drugs known as anticoagulants. In adult patients with atrial fibrillation and patients having orthopaedic surgery, it is used to reduce vascular mortality, avoid stroke, and venous thromboembolic events. Additionally, it is used to treat acute deep venous thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE), as well as to avoid recurring DVT and PE. In addition to treating and preventing adult blood clots, this medication is also used to treat blood clots in infants.
