Aldonil Tablets are a member of the class of drugs known as aldose reductase inhibitors that are used to treat diabetic neuropathy. Diabetes patients who have diabetic neuropathy, a chronic, progressive nerve condition, experience nerve pain as a result of nerve damage. Legs and ankles are the main areas affected.
Eplerestat, an ingredient in Aldonil Tablet 10, prevents the enzyme aldose reductase from catalysing the change of glucose to sorbitol. In diabetic individuals, sorbitol builds up because of hyperglycemia, which causes nerve pain. Aldonil Tablet works to cure diabetic neuropathy by preventing the buildup of sorbitol.
