Ampoxin-CV 228.5 mg syrup 30 ml is an antibiotic in the penicillin antibiotic class. It is usually prescribed to prevent middle ear and sinus infections, throat or lung respiratory infections, urinary tract infections, skin infections, soft tissue infections, teeth and joint and bone infections.
Ampoxin-CV 228.5 mg Syrup 30 ml consists of two drugs amoxicillin and clavulanic acid. Amoxicillin works by destroying the outer protein layer and thereby killing bacteria. Clavulanic acid inhibits the beta-lactamase enzyme, which prevents bacteria from destroying the effectiveness of amoxicillin. As a result, the action of clavulanic acid allows amoxicillin to work better and kill bacteria. Ampoxin-CV 228.5 mg syrup 30 ml is ineffective against infections caused by viruses, including colds and flu.
