How It Works
Benadryl Syrup is a cough reliever that contains three medications: diphenhydramine, ammonium chloride, and sodium citrate. Diphenhydramine is an antiallergic medication that relieves allergy symptoms such as runny nose, watery eyes, and sneezing. Ammonium chloride is an expectorant that reduces the stickiness of mucus and aids in its removal from the airways. Sodium citrate is a mucolytic, which thins and loosens mucus, making it easier to cough up.

For the Treatment of Cough
Coughing is a sudden, forceful expulsion of air that helps in the removal of mucus or irritants from the throat or airways. It can be annoying if it happens frequently due to an underlying disease or an allergy. Benadryl Syrup loosens thick mucus and reduces stickiness, making coughing easier. This improves the flow of air in and out. It helps relieve allergy symptoms such as sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, or throat irritation.
