You may give Clavam Dry Syrup to your child with or without food. It is recommended to give it with food as it helps increase absorption and lowers the risk of stomach upset. The doctor may advise giving it two to three times a day.

The bacteria that cause multidrug-resistant tuberculosis produce an enzyme known as beta-lactamase. This enzyme degrades antibiotics, rendering them ineffective. Thus, the bacteria develop resistance to the antibiotics used to treat them. Clavam Dry Syrup contains two active ingredients: amoxycillin and clavulanic acid. While clavulanic acid inhibits the enzyme, amoxycillin kills the tuberculosis-causing bacteria.
