Cofstop-CDX Syrup is generally used to treat dry cough. The body uses a cough, whether it is productive or dry, to eliminate irritants from the airways and guard against infection. There are two different forms of cough: dry cough and chesty cough. A dry cough is itchy and does not produce any unpleasant or thick mucus, but a chesty cough (wet cough) implies that mucus or sputum is produced to help clear your airways.
Usage instructions-
- Read the pack carefully and use as directed by your doctor.
How It Works-
Chlorpheniramine Maleate and Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide, which both treat dry cough, are combined in Cofstop-CDX Syrup. By suppressing the effects of a chemical messenger called histamine, chlorpheniramine maleate, a kind of antiallergic, helps to lessen the cough that is linked with allergies. A cough suppressant called dextromethorphan hydrobromide stops coughing by decreasing the activity of the cough centre in the brain.

- Chlorpheniramine and Dextromethorphan, two medications generally used to treat dry cough, are combined as Cofstop-CDX Syrup.
- Chlorpheniramine is a member of the antihistamine (anti-allergic medicine) class of medications that suppress allergic responses by inhibiting the action of histamine.
- Sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, itching, swelling, and congestion are some of the allergy symptoms that it helps to alleviate.
- Dextromethorphan belongs to the group of cough suppressants that stop cough-inducing muscles from receiving nerve impulses from the brain's cough centre. It lessens the need to cough as a result.
