CTD L 12.5/50 Tablet is a mixture of Chlorthalidone and Losartan, both of which are antihypertensive medications. CTD L 12.5/50 Tablet is used to treat mild to moderate high blood pressure in adults when monotherapy is ineffective.
High blood pressure (also known as hypertension) is a medical condition in which the force of the blood exerted against the artery walls remains very high, causing severe damage to the blood vessels supplying several organs, resulting in heart attack, heart or kidney failure, stroke, or even blindness.
Usage instructions-
The dose and duration of CTD L 12.5/50 Tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor. You can have this drug with meals or without.
How it works-
CTD L 12.5/50 Tablet effectively reduces high blood pressure by blocking the actions of Angiotensin II (a substance that causes blood vessel narrowing and an increase in blood pressure) at the angiotensin type-I receptors of vascular smooth muscle and chlorthalidone acts by increasing urinary excretion of sodium and water by inhibiting sodium-chloride reabsorption in the kidneys, resulting in a significant decrease in blood pressure.

CTD L 12.5/50 Tablet is a mixture of two medicines. It is usually used when one medicine is not controlling blood pressure effectively on its own. Losartan relaxes and widens your blood vessels, allowing your blood to flow more freely. This lowers your blood pressure. Chlorthalidone is a diuretic, or water pill. It increases urine output, lowering your blood pressure. When your blood pressure is under control, you are less likely to suffer from heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems.
