CTD O 6.25/40 Tablet is a combination of Chlorthalidone and Olmesartan, which are Thiazide diuretics and Angiotensin-II receptor antagonists, respectively. CTD O 6.25/40 Tablet is used to treat essential hypertension. Essential hypertension (also known as primary hypertension) is a medical disorder in which the force of the blood forced on the artery walls stays extremely high, causing significant damage to the walls of blood arteries feeding numerous vital organs. It develops without any known secondary cause, and if left untreated, it can lead to serious complications such as heart attack, heart or kidney failure, stroke, or even blindness.
Usage instructions-
- The dose and duration of CTD O 6.25/40 Tablet should be taken as directed by your doctor. You can have this drug with meals or without.
How it works-
CTD O 6.25/40 Tablet effectively reduces high blood pressure by blocking the actions of Angiotensin II (a substance that causes blood vessel narrowing and increases in blood pressure) at the angiotensin type-I receptors of vascular smooth muscle and chlorthalidone acts by increasing urinary excretion of sodium and water by inhibiting sodium-chloride reabsorption in the kidneys, resulting in a significant decrease in blood pressure.

CTD O 6.25/40 Tablet is a combination drug that is typically used when a single medication fails to manage blood pressure. Olmesartan medoxomil, which is included in CTD O 6.25/40 Tablet, is used to treat hypertension. Chlorthalidone, on the other hand, operates as a diuretic, increasing the volume of urine pushed out from the kidneys and therefore reducing blood pressure. It decreases general blood pressure and lowers the chance of suffering a heart attack, stroke, or kidney issues.
