Emcoril A Syrup is a member of the group of drugs known as "expectorants," which are often used to treat coughs that are associated with mucus. The body uses coughing, whether it is productive or dry, to remove irritants from the airways and protects against infection. There are two kinds of coughs: Dry cough and Chesty cough. A ticklish cough with mucus or sputum production but no severe or thick mucus is referred to as a chesty cough (wet cough).

How it works-

Ambroxol, Terbutaline, and Guaifenesin are three medications included in Emcoril A Syrup, which treats mucus-producing coughs. A mucolytic called Ambroxol thins and loosens phlegm, making it easier to cough up. A bronchodilator is Terbutaline. It functions by relaxing the muscles around the airways and widening them. Guaifenesin, an expectorant, helps to evacuate the airways of mucus (phlegm) by reducing its stickiness. Together, they make breathing easier.

Safety information-

Pregnancy

Emcoril A Syrup is probably not safe to use in pregnancy. There are limited human studies, but animal studies have shown adverse effects on the developing baby. Consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding

There are no instructions found in this case. You should consult your doctor.

Alcohol

It is not known whether it is safe or not to take alcohol with Emcoril A Syrup.

Driving

Emcoril A Syrup may make you feel tired and lightheaded, less attentive, or have an adverse effect on your vision. If you have these symptoms, don't drive.

Kidney

Emcoril A Syrup should be taken with caution in people with kidney disease.  Emcoril A Syrup dosage adjustments may be required. Please consult your doctor.

Liver 

Emcoril A Syrup should be administered with caution to patients with liver issues. Dose adjustments may be necessary. Please consult your doctor.
