Emcoril DX Syrup is a member of the group of drugs known as cough and cold preparations, which are generally used to treat dry cough. The body uses coughing, whether it is productive or dry, to remove irritants from the airways and guard against infection. Chesty cough and dry cough are two different types of coughs. A dry cough is itchy and does not produce any unpleasant or thick mucus, but a chesty cough (wet cough) suggests that mucous or sputum is produced to help clear your airways.
Usage instructions-
- Make sure you take Emcoril DX Syrup in the amount and for as long as your doctor tells you to.
How it works-
The dry cough-relieving medications Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide and Chlorpheniramine maleate are combined as Emcoril DX Syrup. By inhibiting the actions of histamine, a chemical messenger, Chlorpheniramine maleate, an antiallergic, helps lessen cough brought on by allergies. In order to stop coughing, Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide lowers the activity of the cough centre in the brain.
