Epictal 100Mg Syrup is 'anti-convulsant' drug that is primarily used to treat seizures (fits) caused by epilepsy. People with epilepsy suffer from a chronic ailment that causes seizures, often known as convulsions. Epictal 100Mg Syrup is used to treat epilepsy in which fits affect only one side of the brain but can spread to wider portions on both sides.
Usage instructions-
- The dose and duration of Epictal 100Mg Syrup should be taken as directed by your doctor. You can take Epictal 100Mg Syrup with meals or without.
How it works-
Epictal 100Mg Syrup Syrup is an antiepileptic drug. It functions by binding to particular locations on the surfaces of nerve cells (SV2A). It can overcome aberrant nerve cell activity in the brain and stops the propagation of electrical impulses that cause seizures.
Safety information-
Pregnancy
Epictal 100Mg Syrup is safe to use in pregnancy. Studies in animals have shown minimal or no adverse effects on the developing baby. However, limited human studies are available.
Breastfeeding
Epictal 100Mg Syrup is probably safe to breastfeed. There is limited human data to suggest that the drug poses no risk to the baby.
Alcohol
It is not safe to consume alcohol with Epictal 100Mg Syrup.
Driving
Epictal 100Mg Syrup may impair your alertness, impair your eyesight, or make you drowsy and dizzy. If you have any of these symptoms, do not drive.
Kidney
Epictal 100Mg Syrup should be administered with caution to patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustments may be necessary. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
Epictal 100Mg Syrup is probably safe for use in people with liver impairment. Due to limited data available, dose adjustments may not be necessary in patients with liver disease. Please consult your physician.
Epictal 100Mg Syrup includes Levetiracetam, which is used to treat epileptic symptoms in combination or alone. It functions by reducing the abnormal signals that the brain sends, which result in seizures. It aids in the suppression of certain brain areas responsible for aberrant activity and the propagation of electrical impulses that cause seizures. It lowers seizure episodes but does not cure epilepsy.
