Eptoin Tablet is a member of the class of medications known as "anticonvulsants," which is used to treat epilepsy and seizures as well as to prevent them after brain surgery or in the aftermath of a brain injury. In addition to these, trigeminal neuralgia can also be treated with eptoin tablet. A condition known as epilepsy generates abrupt electrical activity in the brain that results in seizures, strange behavior, and a loss of awareness.

Phenytoin, an ingredient in Eptoin Tablets, works by slowing down neurons' firing rates, limiting the rapid, uncontrolled firing of brain cells. Eptoin Tablet thereby regulates the activation of brain cells that results in seizures. The electrical impulses in the nerves are slowed down by eptoin tablet, which reduces their capacity to convey pain. Trigeminal neuralgia is treated as a result.
