Esomeprazole, an ingredient in Esokem 40 tablet, is a proton pump inhibitor, a kind of medication. It is used to treat adults and adolescents over the age of 12 who have gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and heartburn. Esokem 40 Tablet also aids in the treatment of adults and children over the age of 12 who are using non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines (NSAIDs) and have stomach ulcers or the upper section of the intestine (gut) infected with Helicobacter pylori bacteria. Additionally, it is used to treat Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, which is characterised by an enlarged pancreas and excessive stomach acid production.
