- Benefits
Lidocaine (local anaesthetic) and Nifedipine (calcium channel blocker), the two medications combined in Fidonal Cream, are used to treat Anal Fissure. An anal fissure is typically a tiny laceration or puncture in the anus membrane. Extreme discomfort and bleeding during and after bowel motions are caused by this skin tear. The anal sphincter, which is at the extremity of the anus, may occasionally experience spasms if these gaps are particularly profound. Anal fissure symptoms include discomfort before, during, and after bowel movements, bleeding during stools, and a split that can be seen around the anal region.
Usage instructions-
- Read the pack carefully and use as directed by your doctor.
How it works-
Lidocaine and Nifedipine are the two medications included in Fidonal Cream. The topical anaesthetic lidocaine is used. It functions by preventing the brain from receiving pain impulses from the neurons, thereby lessening pain perception. A calcium channel blocker is nifedipine. (CCB). It functions in the anal cleft by preventing calcium from acting on the anus blood vessels.

- Lidocaine and Nifedipine are two medications found in Fidonal Cream.
- Lidocaine, a type of topical anesthetic, is used to lessen any pain or distress brought on by anal fissures.
- As a sedative, it functions by temporarily robbing the anal region of its feeling.
- This is accomplished by decreasing the neuronal membrane's permeability to sodium ions, which further decreases depolarization and blocks both the start and transmission of nerve impulses.
- The individual experiences alleviation from the pain brought on by rectal soreness in this manner.
- Nifedipine, on the other hand, works by boosting blood flow to the anal region and relaxing the smooth muscles around the anus, which speeds up the mending of the anal fissure. The effect is also blocked by nifedipine.
