Additionally, this medication aids in lowering the incidence of hip and spine fractures. A medical disease called osteoporosis causes the bones to thinning or weaken. With age, following menopause, or long-term usage of corticosteroid drugs like prednisone, there is an increased risk of developing osteoporosis. It can also result in shattered bones if it is not treated appropriately.
