The drug Glipy Met 500 Tablet, which combines the medications metformin and vildagliptin, is categorised as an antidiabetic agent. Adult patients with type 2 diabetes, commonly known as non-insulin dependent diabetic mellitus, who are unable to control their condition with diet and exercise alone or in combination with other medications for the condition (insulin or a sulphonylurea, such as glimepiride, glipizide), are treated with Glipy Met 500 Tablet. In type 2 diabetes, the body either produces insufficient insulin or the insulin it does generate does not function properly. Excessive urine, intense thirst, hunger, exhaustion, and impaired eyesight are among symptoms.

How it works-
Metformin and Vildagliptin are the two anti-diabetic drugs included in the Glipy Met 500 Tablet. Biguanide, an anti-diabetic drug, is metformin. It works by decreasing the amount of glucose the liver can make, lowering the rate at which glucose is absorbed by the intestines, and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin. Vildagliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor, reduces hormones that raise blood sugar levels while simultaneously promoting pancreatic insulin release. This decreases blood sugar levels both after meals and when fasting. They provide better blood sugar management when used together.
