Glycomet-GP 2 Tablet belongs to a class of medicines called anti-diabetic drugs. It is a combination of two drugs that helps treat type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults. It helps regulate blood glucose levels in diabetics.
You can take Glycomet-GP 2 Tablet with food at the same time every day. The most common side effect of Glycomet-GP 2 Tablet is low blood glucose levels. It may also cause side effects such as stomach pain, nausea, taste changes, upper respiratory tract infection, headache, and diarrhea. Make sure to avoid drinking alcohol during treatment with this medicine as it can increase your risk of low blood sugar levels.
Avoid taking Glycomet-GP 2 Tablet if you have type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, or severe kidney or liver disease. Inform your doctor if you have ever had heart disease before taking this medicine. Women who are pregnant or nursing should consult their doctor before taking this medicine. Keep checking your blood sugar levels regularly during treatment with this medicine. Your doctor may also suggest blood tests to check your blood cell counts and liver function.

How It Works
Glycomet-GP 2 Tablet contains a combination of two antidiabetic drugs, including glimepiride and metformin. Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea that works by raising the amount of insulin released by the pancreas to lower the blood glucose. Metformin is a biguanide that works by reducing glucose production in the liver, which helps in delaying glucose absorption from intestines and raising the body’s sensitivity to insulin.

It is not safe to drink alcohol with Glycomet-GP 2 Tablet.
DRIVING
Your driving ability may be affected if your blood sugar is too low or too high. Avoid driving if you notice these symptoms.
PREGNANCY
Glycomet-GP 2 Tablet may not be safe to use during pregnancy. It may have adverse effects on the unborn baby.
BREASTFEEDING
Glycomet-GP 2 Tablet is not safe to use during breastfeeding as it may cause toxicity to the baby.
