Halobetasol, which is an ingredient in Halobet Cream, is a member of the class of drugs known as topical corticosteroids. Halobet Cream is used to treat the inflammatory and pruritic symptoms of corticosteroid responsive dermatoses, which are three different types of skin disorders: scalp psoriasis (a skin disorder), eczema (skin inflammation), and atopic dermatitis (itchy, inflamed skin). In response to corticosteroid therapy, these symptoms include an itchy scalp and red, irritated skin.

How it works-
The mechanism of action of Halobet Cream is the induction of lipocortins, which are inflammatory enzymes that lead to a reduction in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes, which in turn inhibits the release of arachidonic acid, the hormone that causes the inflammatory process in the skin and somewhat alleviates the symptoms. Redness, swelling, and itching are all present.
