Linapride Tablet is generally used to treat type 2 diabetes. It includes Linagliptin, an inhibitor of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) that is often used. Linapride Tablet is used to treat type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise alone are insufficient to manage blood sugar levels. It works by blocking DPP-4, an enzyme that breaks down the hormone known as "Incretin." The enzyme 'Incretins' aids in the production of more insulin just when it is required and lowers the blood sugar level of the liver when it is not required. Linapride Tablet should not be used to treat diabetic ketoacidosis or in people with type 1 diabetes. Thus, Linapride Tablet plays an important role in managing blood sugar levels and preventing major diabetic consequences such as vision loss (retinopathy) and kidney damage.
