Monotrate SR 30 Tablet belongs to the nitrate vasodilator class of medications. These work by relaxing the blood arteries of the heart, lowering stress on the heart and making blood pumping easier. Monotrate SR 30 Tablet is used to prevent angina pectoris episodes. Angina typically manifests as tight chest discomfort, neck pain, or arm pain. The discomfort is caused by the heart muscle and indicates that a portion of it is not receiving enough oxygen for the amount of work it is performing.
