Normet Tablet is a mixture of Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. Normet Tablet is a prescription medication used to treat diarrhea caused by bacteria and parasites (microorganisms that reside in other people's bodies and grow on their nutrition) in adults. Normet Tablet kills germs and parasites by inhibiting their reproductive mechanism.
Side effects of Normet Tablet may include nausea, vomiting, headaches, and stomach discomfort. These adverse effects usually resolve themselves. Avoid driving and using machinery after taking a Normet Tablet, since it may induce dizziness. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms continue or worsen. If you have an allergy to this medication, avoid using it. Normet Tablet is not indicated for use in children under the age of 18.
Usage instructions-
- Take a Normet Tablet according to your doctor’s instructions. With meals, you can take a Normet Tablet.
How it works-
Normet Tablet contains a mixture of Ofloxacin and Ornidazole. Ofloxacin works by suppressing an enzyme essential for bacterial DNA replication, which prevents multiplication and development and eventually kills the bacterium. Ornidazole inhibits the development of bacteria or protozoa by interfering with the protein production process, resulting in their death.

Pregnancy
Normet Tablet is probably not safe to use during pregnancy. There are limited human studies, but animal studies have shown adverse effects on the developing baby. Consult your doctor.
Breastfeeding
There are no instructions found in terms of breastfeeding regarding the use of the Normet Tablet. Please consult your doctor.
Alcohol
It is not safe to take alcohol with a Normet Tablet.
Driving
Normet Tablet may cause side effects that can affect your drive.
Kidney

- Most of the time, the Normet Tablet will make you feel better. However, it is important to continue taking Normet Tablet for as long as the doctor prescribes it, even if you start to feel better. This is to ensure that all the bacteria are killed and the parasites don’t become resistant.
