Ondem Syrup helps treat nausea and vomiting in children. It helps treat nausea and vomiting related to chemotherapy, radiotherapy, surgery, and intestinal/stomach infection. It also helps treat vomiting which occurs as a side effect of medicines such as painkillers.
You can give Ondem Syrup before or after meals. Give this syrup to your child 30 minutes prior to the procedure to control vomiting caused due to chemotherapy. You can give it 1 to 2 hours prior to a radiotherapy session and 1 hour prior to surgery to prevent your child from vomiting after these procedures.
The common side effects of this medicine include headache, diarrhea, constipation, and fatigue. Make sure to inform your doctor about all the medicines your child is taking, including antibiotics, painkillers, or medicines to treat depression. It is recommended to inform the doctor if your child has a history of kidney malfunction, liver problems, heart problems, blockage in the gastrointestinal tract, or allergies to any medicine, its ingredients, or a food product.
Usage Instructions
Take Ondem Syrup as prescribed by your doctor. It is recommended to measure this syrup with a measuring cup and take it orally. You may take Ondem Syrup with or without food at a fixed time.
How It Works
During abdominal infection, chemotherapy, radiotherapy or any major surgeries, the dead cells in the body release serotonin directly into the blood. Later, it helps in stimulating special centres in the body that induces vomiting in your child. Taking Ondem Syrup just before the procedure blocks the effect of this chemical on vomiting centres of the brain and prevents vomiting.
Safety Instructions-
KIDNEY
It is safe to use Ondem Syrup if you have kidney disease.
LIVER
Patients with liver disease should take caution while using Ondem Syrup.
