Periset Syrup is an anti-emetic medicine that is primarily used to prevent vomiting (feeling ill) and nausea (feeling sick) during cancer chemotherapy, radiation treatment, or surgery. Nausea is an uncomfortable feeling in which a person feels the want to vomit, whereas vomiting is the body's natural response to violently empty the stomach contents.
Usage instructions-
- The dose and duration of Periset Syrup should be taken as directed by your doctor.
How it works-
Periset Syrup is a serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonist (particular chemical receptor) that acts by inhibiting the activity of serotonin, a naturally occurring hormone that can produce nausea and vomiting.
Safety information-
Kidney
It is safe for people with kidney disease to take Periset Syrup. You don't need to change your dose.
Liver
Periset Syrup should be administered with caution to patients with liver issues. Dose adjustments may be necessary. Please consult your doctor.
Periset Syrup inhibits the function of substances in the body that might cause discomfort or illness. Periset Syrup is frequently used to alleviate nausea and vomiting induced by cancer chemotherapy and radiation treatment (in adults and children aged 4 and above). It is typically used prior to and following chemotherapy or radiation. Periset Syrup makes it easier for you to recover after these therapies. Periset Syrup is also useful in avoiding nausea and vomiting following surgery (in adults only). The dose will vary depending on the condition being treated, but always take Periset Syrup as directed.
