Powercort S 3% Ointment is an anti-inflammatory and antipruritic drug that is primarily used to treat eczema and psoriasis. Eczema is a skin disorder that causes inflamed, itchy, cracked, and rough areas of skin. Some varieties of eczema can also generate blisters (a tiny bubble of serum on the skin caused by friction, burning, or other harm). Psoriasis is a skin condition in which skin cells proliferate up to ten times faster than usual, resulting in the formation of bumpy (uneven) red areas covered with white scales. These can appear everywhere, although they are most typically found on the scalp, elbows, knees, and lower back.

Powercort S 3% Ointment is a mixture of four medications that treat eczema and psoriasis: Clobetasol, Salicylic acid, Lactic acid, and Urea. Clobetasol is a kind of steroid medication. It inhibits the creation of chemical messengers (prostaglandins), which cause the skin to become red, puffy, and itching. Keratolytic medications, such as salicylic acid, lactic acid, and urea, dissolve keratin clumps, remove dead skin cells, and soften the skin.
