The primary mechanism of action is to increase the amount of insulin produced by the body's pancreas, resulting in a decrease in blood glucose levels. The second method of action is to reduce the production of glucose in the liver, resulting in a delay in glucose absorption from the intestines and an increase in insulin sensitivity.
