Sparacid DS Suspension is a class of anti-ulcer drug that is prescribed for the treatment or prevention of the re-emergence of ulcers in the duodenal part of the small intestine. It works by creating a protective barrier or coating over the ulcer, which prevents gastric acid from entering the ulcer. This helps to protect the ulcer from stomach acid, allowing the ulcer to heal.
Sparacid DS Suspension acts as a viscous adhesive on the surface of intact intestinal mucosa (the lining of the gut) and the stomach. It stimulates gastric mucosal progesterone synthesis and release. It also stimulates gastric bicarbonate synthesis and release, as well as the growth factor epidermal growth factors.
