Tamsin D Tablet PR is a combination medicine that contains a 'urinary bladder relaxant' medication that is primarily used to treat an enlarged prostate gland. In males, benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate gland) is a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland caused by an excess of the hormone dihydrotestosterone. As the gland grows in size, it can cause urinary issues such as difficulties passing urine and frequent urination. Tamsin D Tablet PR helps to alleviate these symptoms.

How it works-

Tamsulosin (alpha-blockers) and dutasteride (5-alpha reductase inhibitor) are used to treat enlarged prostate glands in Tamsin D Tablet PR. As the gland enlarges, it can cause urinary issues such as difficulties passing urine and a strong need to urinate. Dutasteride reduces the synthesis of dihydrotestosterone hormone, resulting in a reduction in prostate size and, as a result, relief of symptoms. This lowers the chance of acute urine retention and the necessity for surgery. By relaxing the muscles of the gland, tamsulosin facilitates the flow of urine. Together, they both help to reduce the symptoms of benign hyperplasia of the prostate (BPH).
