Analgesic-antipyretic acetaminophen, phenylephrine, and chlorpheniramine maleate are all ingredients in Torex Cold & Flu Suspention. The para-aminophenol derivative paracetamol causes analgesic and antiparesis by raising the pain threshold at the hypothalamic thermoregulation centre. A selective 1-adrenergic receptor agonist, phenylephrine hydrochloride is mainly used as a decongestant. An anti-histaminic with a mild sedative effect is chlorpheniramine maleate, an alkylamine product. A mucolytic, or substance that breaks up mucous to make it simpler to cough up phlegm, is sodium citrate. An expectorant, ammonium chloride thins mucous. Menthol produces a cooling sensation.

How it works-

The way paracetamol functions by preventing the body's cyclo-oxygenase from doing its works. Prostaglandins, which are bodily chemicals that induce pain, swelling, and inflammation, are produced by cyclo-oxygenase. The blood vessels in the mucous membranes of the nostrils are constricted by phenylephrine, allowing the airways to open. Direct stimulation of adrenoceptors is what causes the majority of sympathetic activity. Despite having calming and anticholinergic effects, chlorpheniramine maleate is not selective for the cough centre.
