Osmitol Syrup is made of Lactitol, also known as lactulose, and is a laxative that is used to relieve constipation. By pulling water into the intestine, lactulose softens and makes the feces easier to pass. It is not absorbed by your body and cannot be digested, therefore it is carried to the colon unaltered. Enteric bacteria break down it to acid, which aids in water retention in the colon. This expands the intestinal volume in the colon and indirectly increases bowel movement. High dosages are used to prevent and cure brain impairment caused by liver disorders.
Usage instructions-
- Use Osmitol Syrup as directed by your doctor’s instructions. With food or without, you can take Osmitol Syrup. Take it at a fixed time. Before use shake the bottle well.
How it works-
In the colon, lactulose is broken down into products that draw water out of the body and into the gut, softening feces and making it easier to pass.
