Piokind 15 Tablet is an anti-diabetic drug that belongs to the thiazolidinedione (TZD) class, generally known as 'glitazones', and is used to treat type 2 (non-insulin-dependent) diabetes mellitus. Type 2 diabetes is a condition in which the body does not produce enough insulin or the insulin produced does not function correctly. This kind of diabetes generally appears in older age.

How it works-

Piokind 15 Tablet regulates blood sugar levels well. It includes pioglitazone, a PPAR-gamma and PPAR-alpha agonist. Following ingestion, it stimulates certain receptors in the body (PPAR-gamma and PPAR-alpha) involved in glucose metabolism. This causes our bodies to use insulin to break down the circulating blood glucose, lowering blood sugar levels. Furthermore, Piokind 15 Tablet can minimize the amount of glucose generated by the liver.

Safety information-

Pregnancy

Piokind 15 Tablet is probably not safe to use in pregnancy. There are limited human studies, but animal studies have shown adverse effects on the developing baby. Consult your doctor.

Breastfeeding

Piokind 15 Tablet should be taken with caution when breastfeeding. Breastfeeding should be stopped until the mother's therapy is finished and the medication has been cleared from her body.

Alcohol

It is unsafe to consume alcohol with Piokind 15 Tablet.

Driving

Piokind 15 Tablet does not affect your drive.

Kidney

It is safe for people with kidney disease to take Piokind 15 Tablet. You don't need to change your dose.

Liver

Piokind 15 Tablet should be administered with caution to patients with liver issues. Dose adjustments may be necessary. Please consult your doctor.
