Gemcal Capsule belongs to a drug class called multi-minerals that helps treat low blood calcium levels. It helps treat conditions such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia/rickets, hypoparathyroidism, and latent tetany. This medicine also helps treat hyperparathyroidism and metabolic bone disease in people with surgery, chronic kidney disease, or other conditions.
Take Gemcal Capsule as directed by your doctor. It can cause side effects such as vomiting, constipation or stomach upset, mood changes, nausea, weakness, loss of appetite, tiredness, bone/muscle pain, fast or pounding heartbeat, and headache.
Please notify your doctor if you are allergic to Gemcal Capsule or any of its inactive components. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should consult their doctor before taking Gemcal Capsule.
Usage Instructions
Take Gemcal Capsule as prescribed by your doctor. You can take Gemcal Capsule before or after a meal with a glass of water.
How It Works
Gemcal Capsule contains three medications: calcium carbonate, calcitriol, and zinc. Calcitriol helps your body’s absorption of calcium carbonate while also supporting the muscles required to avoid falls. Calcium and zinc help in the formation and maintenance of bones. Gemcal Capsule helps treat conditions such as osteoporosis, osteomalacia/rickets, hypoparathyroidism, and tetany.

It is advised to limit alcohol consumption while taking Gemcal Capsule because it can affect calcium absorption.

PREGNANCY
When taking Gemcal Capsules during pregnancy, you should use higher doses than the daily recommended dosage only on the advice of your doctor. Higher calcitriol doses may harm the fetus.
BREASTFEEDING
If you are nursing a baby, speak with your doctor before taking Gemcal Capsule. It is possible that the drug may enter breast milk.
